By now you know that NIBA is celebrating its 25th Anniversary Year during 2016. In February, FCM and Service Provider Members joined the NIBA Board of Directors to review the accomplishments of the Association and toast the coming year.
In April, New York-based members of the NIBA were able to celebrate our 25th year with a half-day forum concentrating on the metals and energies markets and the very new NFA guidance for your firm's cybersecurity compliance. And, at the DePaul University co-sponsored forum in July, NIBA's 25th Anniversary commemoration continued with a educational event attended by over 100 members.
I'm honored and very proud to invite you to the NIBA 25th Anniversary Conference, September 14 at the CME Group Building in Chicago. Event Chairman, Ryan Griffeth and his committee, Brian Gaffud, Steve Petillo, Barb Schmidt-Bailey, Holli Kranz and Jerry Ryan have pulled out all the stops to make this meeting the best one ever!
The entire day's agenda is posted on the registration page -- I know you will find several business sessions, along with networking time which will provide you with information, education and actionable-ideas that you will put to use in your business immediately. IBs and CTAs will participate in discussions and panels focused on the issues that we come face-to-face with every day.
Webster's Dictionary states the use of the word "anniversary" is first recorded between 1200 - 1250AD, in the Middle Ages. NIBA has not been around quite that long -- but congratulations are due to NIBA members, FCMs and supporters for 25 years of service to the financial industry.
I look forward to the next years of meeting the challenges of our changing business, and to continuing my friendships with each of you. Please let me know what NIBA can do better or differently. Please let me know what issues are important to you and if/when you would like to volunteer to work on those issues. And please join me and your colleagues to celebrate NIBA's 25th Anniversary Year on September 14 in Chicago - we'll share a toast to the next 25 years!
